Daniel P. Young, 87, of Princeton, passed peacefully at his home to go be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born April 25, 1933 in Perry County to Ottis and Cecil Young. He started his working life as a farmhand. He then worked as a logger followed by many years as a sawmill worker.
Dan is survived by his wife, Brenda Young of Princeton; 5 children, Dale Young (Lisa) of Princeton; Dennis Young of Petersburg; Randy Young of Princeton; Sandy Young Boling (Mark) of Patoka; and Holly Young of Princeton; stepson, Larry Grove (Alannah); 7 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; brother, Vernon Young (Betty) of Princeton; sister, Anna Mae Young Early of Petersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Young Pollock; and brother, Ray Young.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 16,2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Randall Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery near Mount Olympus. There will be visitation from noon until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, social distancing is required and masks are recommended.
Memorial contributions may be given to Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., Princeton, IN to assist the family with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
