David A. Hartley, 72, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at his home. He was born in Princeton on August 25, 1948 to the late George and Patricia Hartley, and graduated from Princeton High School in 1966 and then from the University of Southern Indiana with a B. S. in education and had resided here most of his life.
He worked at the former Keith’s Home Decorating in Princeton from the time he graduated from college until 1989, and then in August of 1989 he started at F&M Home and Building Supply in Princeton and continued working there until illness caused him to retire in August of 2019. He had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for over 40 years.
David is survived by his wife, Joyce (White) Hartley, they celebrated 47 years of marriage on June 15, 2021; a son, Christian (Billie) Hartley of Patoka; 4 grandchildren, Mika Dunn (Alex), Kaycie Hall (Brad), Katlyn Hale (Daniel) and Quentin Hale (Makayla); 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Gary (Parnee) Hartley of North Las Vegas, NV, George R. (Marta) Hartley of Princeton and Jimmy Hartley of Lexington, KY; an aunt, Joanne Jorden of Evansville; and also, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor William Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the hour of service on Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home.
