David Morgan

David Morgan Obituary

David Morgan, 78, of Oakland City passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his home. 
He was born September 30, 1946 in Evansville, IN to the late Henry and Lois (Maikranz) Morgan. David graduated from Mackey High School in 1964. He was a lifelong farmer and excavating contractor. David was a simple man who like to enjoy spending time outside, shooting guns, and pestering friends and neighbors. He also volunteered at the Somerville Fire Department for 20+ years. David will truly be missed by many. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Brian Morgan. 

David is survived by his children, Dawn (Willie) Lehmkuhler, Ryan Morgan, and Gene (Kristi) Morgan; a close friend that he thought of as a son, Kix Freudenberg; grandchildren, Alyssa Young, Addison Young, Abe Lehmkuhler, Eli Lehmkuhler, Kolt Morgan, Kannon Morgan, Ashlyn Ball, Grace Morgan, and Kylee Morgan; and great-grandchild, Morgan Ball. 

A funeral service celebrating David’s life will be held 1 p.m. CST Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery rural Francisco. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. 
CST Saturday at the funeral home.
