David Lee Sensmeier

David Lee Sensmeier, 65, of Oakland City, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born January 21, 1956 in Evansville to the late, Alvin Sensmeier and Anna Mary (Freudenberg) Sensmeier. He married his wonderful wife Kreesa (Baize) Sensmeier on July 29, 1995 and they were blessed with 26 years together. Over the years David and Kreesa acted as foster parents to a total of 78 children. David worked as a batch maker at Red Spot Paint in Evansville for about 30 years. He was a member of Day Spring Church of God and Prophesy in Henderson, Kentucky and was an avid hunter; hunting coon and deer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. David was a very dedicated family man and enjoyed following his grandson’s sporting events. He was a good-hearted guy and a friend to anyone he met. He will be missed greatly.

David is survived by his wife, Kreesa Sensmeier of Oakland City; children, Jody Sensmeier, Jayson Sensmeier (Rachel), Blake Baize, and Cora Sensmeier; grandchildren, Grant Issak, Maizey, and Derk; brothers, Ron Sensmeier (Sandy), Don Sensmeier, and Tom Sensmeier (Jenny); and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; special aunt, Margaret Freudenberg; and mother and father-in-law, James E. and Clara Baize.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM (CST) Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Lindsey. Interment will follow at Nobles Chapel Cemetery near Elberfeld. A visitation will be held from 9 until the service hour, 11:00 AM (CST) Saturday at the funeral home.
