Deloris Brown Obituary

Deloris M. Brown 89, of Ft. Branch passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born May 21, 1934 in East St. Louis, IL, to Maurice and Audrey Irene (Strong) Roney. 

Deloris graduated from Princeton High School in 1952.  She had lived in Ft. Branch for the past 50 years moving there from Princeton.  She retired from Potter and Brumfield where she worked for 42 years, serving as a Past President of the workers Union. She loved her dog Sadie and enjoyed spending time raising flowers and plants.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Judy Roney of Princeton; nephews Rick Roney and Tom Roney (Debbie) of Princeton; niece Debbie Birch (Gary) of Princeton; great nephew, Patrick Roney and great niece, Whitney Birch; her special canine companion, Sadie; and her caregiver, Viola Gaston.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Brown in 1997; brothers, Maurice, Robert, and Richard Roney.

A funeral service will be held at the graveside in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville, IN, 11 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024 with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Burial will follow the services.  There will be no public visitation.  The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson County Animal Services, 3840 CR 175, Princeton, IN  47670.
