Dennis Ray Burns, 70, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Lee Health Park Medical Center. He was born December 13, 1953 in Princeton and worked for 35 years as a field Mechanic for Country Mark Oil Company. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. Dennis married Karen (Couch) Burns on June 17, 2006. Dennis enjoyed cruising with his wife, as well as serving alongside her as Social Directors of Leisure Time Park for 10 years. His life motto was “Let’s eat drink and be merry” as he was the grill master to the family and enjoyed being a DJ to his many friends. He was loved by many and will be missed.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Frances E. (Kirby) Hartwell; wife of 18 years, Karen Burns; children, Jarred Burns and Brandi Hall; step-children, Amy Cameron, Shannon Meador, and Mary Morton; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and twin brothers, Ron Burns and Donnie Burns.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick W. Burns.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM CST, November 9, 2024 at Francisco Cemetery in Francisco, IN. Members of the Retired Veteran Organization will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
