Dexter Loveless Obituary

Dexter Jean Loveless, 87, of Petersburg, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home. She was born January 4, 1934 in Pike County to the late Cortney B. Willis and Esther L. (Jones) Willis. She married Kenneth Richard Loveless on November 14, 1952 and they were blessed with 62 years together before his passing in October 2015. Dexter loved to crochet and quilt. She enjoyed working with her hands and tending to her flowers. She liked fishing in the pond in her yard and raised puppies and chickens in her younger years. Dexter was the definition of a good mom, often found in the kitchen cooking for the ones she loved. She was most fond of holidays and Sunday family get-togethers. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Dexter is survived by her children, Richard Lee Loveless (Beverly) of Oakland City, Jeannie Gail Pride of Oakland City, Jeffery Dean Loveless (Susan) of Petersburg, and Terry Lynn Loveless of Petersburg; grandchildren, Christina Hess, Abby Hyneman (Justin), Thomas Pride (Julie), Timothy Pride, Terry Loveless, Jr., Shandi Kay Loveless, and Amy McBride (Connor); great-grandchildren, Sophie Ilene Fletcher, Avery Grace Fletcher, Locke Elwood Pride, Elayna Kathleen Pride, Emma Kay White, Tobius Carlyle Loveless, Titus Carlyle Loveless, and Matthew Hess; brother, Adrian B. Willis (Barbara); and several special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Dorothy Freeland and Mary K. Mitchell.
