Dolores "Ricki" LaGrange Brown Obituary

Dolores “Ricki” LaGrange Brown, 95, formerly of Princeton and Evansville, passed away Sunday,
December 22, 2024 at the Grand Brook Memory Care of Fishers, IN. She was born March 18, 1929 in
Evansville, Indiana to Ruth Miller Richter and Frank E. Richter.

Ricki is survived by her three sons, Chris LaGrange (Debi), Mike LaGrange (Denise) and Tom LaGrange;
Grandchildren, Dr. Chad LaGrange (Kim), Ashley Pollreisz (Scott), Matthew LaGrange (Leslie), Natalie
Szczypiorski (Nick), Katelyn Overfield (Chris), Zachery LaGrange (Sarah) and Tim LaGrange (Beth);
Great Grandchildren, Jonah Allen LaGrange, Tyler James LaGrange, Ava Szczypiorski, Emery Szczypiorski,
Aubrey Overfield,  Adelyn Overfield, Amelia Overfield, Ray LaGrange, Daniel LaGrange, Emmett LaGrange and Margot LaGrange, and Evelyn Epley; Stepchildren, Chris Brown (Paula) and Kim Maggio; Step Grandchildren, Jillian (Steve), Camille Brown, Amanda Brown, Jake Brown, Katie Maggio and Nick Maggio; Also survived by the Mothers of her Grandchildren, Judy, Jacinda and Emily.

Ricki was preceded in death by her first husband of 37 years, and father of Chris, Mike and Tom, Allen
Jonah LaGrange; Rexel Brown, her second husband of 26 years; grandson, Blake Michael LaGrange;
Stepdaughter, Jennifer Brown; Parents, Ruth and Frank Richter; three Sisters, Magdalene Eisenhauer, Mary Riepl and Antonette Wilkerson; and two Brothers, Edward and Jerome Richter.

Ricki graduated with the Reitz Memorial High School Class of 1947. She was a retired RN, a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, formerly employed as Nursing Supervisor at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, Indiana and also Office Nurse for Dr. William R. Wells. Having lived in Princeton most of her life, Ricki was involved in many community activities which included, serving on the Board of Directors of Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce; Past President of GCARC; Past President of Gibson County Unit of the American Cancer Society; a member of the PEO Sisterhood; a former member of the Tourists Literary Society; an inactive member of the Associate Chapter of Alpha Nu Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority, and a former member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. While living in Princeton she attended the First Presbyterian Church. After moving to Evansville, following the death of her first husband Allen, she attended St. John’s UCC downtown with her second husband, Rexel.

A funeral service celebrating Ricki’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow in the Columbia White Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
