Donald Kent "Butter" Barrett

Donald Kent “Butter” Barrett, 78, of Ft. Branch, IN passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was born December 4, 1947 to Charles D. Barrett and Patsy R. (Finney) Watkins. Butter graduated from Ft. Branch High School. He married the love of his life, Pamela Sue (Julian) Barrett, October 31, 1975. They were blessed with 43 years together before her passing April 2, 2019. Butter worked as a coal miner in his younger years. He will be remembered as a true man’s man. Butter loved to work with his hands tinkering, restoring furniture, and just being handy. He enjoyed spending time in nature going camping, fishing, and spending time with friends. Butter liked watching college and professional basketball.

Butter was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela Sue Barrett; and brother, Ronald Barrett.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Jennifer) Barrett; brother, Bradley Barrett; and grandchildren, Isaac and Brooklyn Barrett.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Maumee Cemetery.
