Donald Frank Kinnaman, 88, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born January 2, 1932 in Oakland City to the late Frank and Arnell (Helsley) Kinnaman and married Betty L. (Harper) Kinnaman on May 30, 1953. He served his country in the United States Navy throughout Japan, China, and North Korea from March 2, 1949 until December 16, 1952 and worked as a coal miner. Donald was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Oakland City, the USS Brinkley Bass Association for about 25 years, and the Oakland City Masonic Lodge #467 since 1953. He enjoyed going to church, fishing, and playing euchre. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Kinnaman of Oakland City; son, Donald “Rick” Kinnaman and wife, Diana of Oakland City; daughter, Alice Jane Berryman and husband, Paul of Oakland City; grandson, Jason Kinnaman and wife, Jennifer; and 2 great-grandchildren, Corinne and Riley Kinnaman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City with Pastor Alec Hensley officiating and interment to follow.
Per Donald’s request, a private family visitation will be held.
