Donald Sloan Obituary

Donald W. Sloan, 73, of Petersburg, IN went to his heavenly home Monday, January 23, 2023 at Amber Manor in Petersburg, IN surrounded by family. He was born in Warrenton, IL March 4, 1949 to the late Walter Sloan and Flora (Rostron) Sloan. Donnie graduated from Petersburg High School in 1967. He worked at Whirlpool until joining the US Army to serve in Germany from 1969 to 1971 then the National Guard for 7 years. Donnie attended the Mackey Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed watching IU Basketball, going for scenic car rides, and going out to eat. Donnie was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Kelby (Mike) Ross and David (Crystal) Sloan; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Sloan, Nancy Logestan, Janet (Bill) White, Sharon (Jim) Stroud, and Gary (Martha) Sloan.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, Indiana. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the service hour, 2:00 PM at the funeral home Thursday with Pastor Bill Reed officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Heart to Heart Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
