Dudley Wright Obituary

Dudley R. Wright, 91, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his home. He was born June 16, 1932 in Albion, IL to the late Vance Wright and Mildren (Eagleson) Wright. Dudley graduated from Owensville High School in 1951. Dudley married Lois Askren December 26, 1957; they were married 50 years before her death on June 19, 2008. He was a retired farmer and proudly served in the Indiana National Guard. Dudley attended Greater Grace Apostolic Church. He enjoyed fishing and bee keeping. Dudley had strong faith in the Lord and knew God had blessed him. He wanted to be a witness to all. Dudley loved spending time with his family. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Dudley is survived by his children, David (Deborah) Wright, Becky (Chuck) Peyton, Dan (Melanie) Wright, Jim (Anne) Wright, and Don (Kim) Wright; siblings, Ed (Roxie) Wright, Rex Wright, Delores Parker, and Marilyn Waldrip; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law, Rita Askren; and special friend George Ankenbrand

He was preceded by his parents; wife; daughter, Deborah Hoover; great-grandson, Caleb M. Brown; and siblings, Clyde Wright, Waldo Wright, Gerald Wright, George Wright, Clifford Wright, Bonnie Watson, Iris Walter, Geraldine Rantz, and Sharron David; and parent-in-laws, Ray and Olive Askren.  

The funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Greater Grace Apostolic Church, 11432 E. 50 S. Oakland City, IN. officiated by Pastor Jason Clark. Interment will follow at Owensville Cemetery in Owensville with Military Rites provided by the Retired Military Veterans.  Visitation hours will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM at the church.

For those who wish, memorial contributions can be given to the Greater Grace Apostolic Church.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
