Eddie Dillon Obituary

Eddie E. Dillon, 97, of Francisco, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at his home. Eddie was born October 27, 1928 in Gibson County to the late Charles Dillon and Helen (Eads) Dillon. He was a proud owner of his own business doing custom farm work with heavy equipment and running his own drilling rig fulfilling a life long dream of his. He enjoyed boating when he wasn’t working and taking care of his garden. He was loved and will be missed.

Eddie is survived by his children, Ernie L. Dillon (Sharon) of Francisco, Danny R. Dillon (Nedra) of Francisco, Patty Null (Rick) of Haubstadt, and Karen E. Whitten (Michael) of Taylor, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jason Dillon (Caty), Joshua Dillon (LaDonna), Curt Dillon, Abby Dillon, Austin Blaize, Ryan Null (Brittany), Amber Hansen (Andrew), Brittney McLaughlin (Matt), and Kyle Whitten (Stephanie); 26 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Priscilla Perry and Jim Dillon (Violet).

Along with his parents; Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Elizabeth (Burgett) Dillon; and siblings, Elwood Dillon and Sandra Sue Arbuthnot.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM (CST) Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Francisco General Baptist Church in Francisco officiated by Pastor Richard Gilmore.  Interment will follow at Francisco Cemetery. Military rites will  be provided by The Retired Military Veterans.  Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.
