Evelyn J. (Hobson) Owens

Evelyn J. Owens, 103, of Princeton passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton.  She was born in Princeton June 28, 1921 to Olonzo and Mary Hobson. 

Evelyn had lived in Princeton most of her life.  She retired as Office Manager at the Southern Indiana Tire in Princeton.  She had previously worked as Office Manager at Hanson Manufacturing in Princeton and at Arbor Hill House in Evansville. She served as minister at the Decker United Methodist Church in Knox County for 30 years.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Ronald Owens (Joyce), of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Kim Lee of Davenport, FL; great-grandsons, Noah and Zach and great-granddaughter, Mikaela.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy E. Owens in 2015; and sisters, Doris and Janice.

A funeral service celebrating Evelyn's life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Brenda Wick officiating. A private graveside service for family will be held at the Warnock Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the service time on Thursday.
