Frances Greenwell Obituary

Frances A. Greenwell, 80, of Princeton passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 at The Waters of Princeton.  She was born September 21, 1945 in Princeton to Theodore “Ted” and Betty (Powers) Schultheis. 

Frances lived in Princeton all of her life and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She operated a child care service in her home for over 20 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, and attending her children and grandchildren’s activities.  In her younger years she enjoyed going boating.

Frances is survived by her children, Bill Greenwell (Debbie) of Princeton, and Lisa Schafer (Kris) of Princeton; siblings, Rose Pearson of Newburgh and Paul Schultheis of Newburgh; grandchildren; Kyle Greenwell (Kelci), Beau Greenwell (Lanae), D’nell Rupe (Kyle), Detrix Schafer (Hannah), Dakota Thacker (Jake), and Daegan Schafer; great-grandchildren, Clay, Luke, Leo, Bowen, Ivy, Asher, Wyatt, Tatum, Myles, Drew, Monroe, Rowan, Brady, Nolan and Lanie.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonnie Greenwell; and brothers, Charles and Bob Schultheis.

A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Fr. Gary Kaiser officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, in Princeton.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contribution may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
