Frank Schmit, 78, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1945 in Princeton to the late Eugene and Rosetta Schmit and was a graduate of Princeton High School and had lived here his entire lifetime. He retired in 2005 from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 39 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton and a life member of the Knights of Columbus No. 1131 in Princeton, and a former member of the Princeton Country Club.
Frank is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Anderson) Schmit, to whom he was married in 1964; 2 daughters, Becky (Mike) Truxal of Princeton and Debra (Jeff) Bruns of Western Spring, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Josh (Kelsey) Truxal, Jordyn (Jason) Webber and Lucy and Sadie Bruns; 5 great grandchildren, Daniel, Luke and Sarah Truxal and Josie and Jax Webber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 South Race Street, Princeton, IN 47670, with Father Andrew Thomas as the celebrant.
