Frieda Smith Obituary

Freida F. Smith, 93, of Princeton passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at Amber Manor Assisted Living in Petersburg. She was born October 7, 1925 in Princeton, Indiana to parents, Roy & Fern (Pellum) Newton.

Freida worked at Potter and Brumfield then at Faultless Castor in Evansville until retirement. She was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a 50-year member of the Golden Fleece Chapter #176 Order of the Eastern Star. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. 

Freida is survived by her daughter, Dona Minnis and husband, James of Petersburg; son, Dennis Smith and wife, Kathy of Spokane, Washington; 3 grandchildren, Wendy Goldsmith and husband, Mark, Brian Smith and wife, Angie, and Steven Smith and wife, Katie; 5 great grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Dearing of Fort Branch.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William R. Smith and Robert Stunkel; 3 sisters, Ruth Blaize, Jean Newton, and Alice Gwaltney; brother, Donald Newton; granddaughter, Spicy Minnis Huck; and grandson, Todd Minnis.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton officiated by Pastor Curtis Bond.
