Gene M. Allen, 86, of Princeton was called home to the Lord Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at RiverOaks Health Campus surrounded by family. He was born May 15, 1937 in Princeton to the late Floyd Allen and Almeada (Monroe) Allen. Gene was in the 1955 graduating class of Princeton High School. He was a machine operator at Whirlpool for 40 years until he retired. Gene married his soulmate, Theresa (Nix) Allen, June 8, 1957 and was blessed with 60 years of marriage before her passing on February 21, 2018. He proudly was in the United States National Guard Reserves for several years, but was never called up for duty. Gene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus. Gene loved to go golfing, fishing, and hunting. Gene was a big sports fan all around, but if you asked him his favorites, he was sure to say the Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, Princeton Tigers, and IU Hoosiers. Gene adored spending time with his family, especially traveling and camping. He had a built in GPS and never got lost! Gene is loved by so many and will be missed deeply.
