George E. McIntire Jr., 81 of Princeton passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Princeton, Indiana March 25, 1939 to George E. and Bertine R. (Bateman) McIntire Sr.
George had lived in Princeton all of his life. He retired from Siemens, after working for Potter and Brumfield for many years. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1957. He was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. He was very active in the church, delivering Sunday Sermon CD’s to the shut ins and those in the nursing home, and delivered Monday night meals to shut ins. He enjoyed peeling apples for the annual apple pie sales at the Heritage Days in Princeton.
He is survived by daughters, Pamela Sands (Randy) of Francisco and Penny Mason (Greg) of Princeton; grandchildren, Jonathan Mason (Errin Thompson), Amanda Sands, Christi Johnson (Adam), Jacob Sands (Amanda), Matthew Mason (Lynn), Nathan McIntire (Paige), Michelle Kenny (Teddy), Lyndsey, Braylee and Ambria McIntire; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mandy McIntire and special friend, Anita Davis.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton with Susan Carey officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
George was preceded in death by parents; wife, Judith McIntire; son, George E. McIntire III; sister, Donna McIntire and 2 sisters at a younger age.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillside United Methodist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
