George Rowland Obituary

George Philip Rowland, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 21, 2021. He was born on April 4, 1954, in Pensacola, FL, the son of George Gardner Rowland and Rose Alice (Bill) Reinwald. Phil graduated from Marion Harding High School, Marion, OH, Class of 1972. He married his beautiful wife Diane Melanie Rowland on March 16, 1974. They were happily married for 44 years and had four children. He was a volunteer EMT and firefighter for the city of Marion, OH and worked for Brontell in Marion before moving to Princeton, IN to work for Highway Machine Company (HMC) for over 30 years. Phil was a loving father and husband and took to the road any chance he got, showing his family what was out there in the world. He loved boating, was a professional shooter, and enjoyed playing golf. He truly loved his music and loved playing his guitars as well.  When not traveling with his family or working, he loved to ride his Harley with his friends.

George Philip Rowland is preceded in death by his parents, George Gardner Rowland and Rose Alice (Bill) Reinwald; his wife, Diane Melanie Beringer-Rowland; and brothers, Gene Arwin Rowland and Kermit (Butch) Gardner Rowland.

He is survived by his three sisters, Rosalie Joy Miller of Dublin, OH, Nancy Zornes of Marion, OH, and Melodie (Jim Williams) Rowland of Florida; his four children, Christina Parks of Marion, OH, Heidi Rowland of Princeton, IN, Melissa Rowland of Evansville, IN and Bradley Rowland of Key Largo, FL; seven grandchildren, Jadelyn Parks, Caleb Parks, Dylan Rowland, Emma Rowland, Mia Wilkes, Ryne Wilkes, Lane Wilkes; and one great grandchild.

The care and cremation of George Philip Rowland has been entrusted with Colvin’s Funeral Home in Princeton, IN and services will be held in Marion, OH at a later date.
