Gerald T. Sharp

Gerald T. Sharp, 91, of Tennyson, formerly of Franciso, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the home of his daughter.  He was born April 29, 1935 in Somerville to Eugene and Avis (Jenkins) Sharp.  Gerald was a retired factory worker working at Whirlpool for 37 years. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He had lived in Tennyson for the past three years moving there from Francisco where he lived for 30 years.

Gerald loved to go to auctions, enjoyed tinkering in his garage and fishing, especially bass fishing. He participated in many bass fishing tournaments around Kentucky Lake.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Melissa Griffin (John) of Tennyson; grandchildren, Emilea Gilmore (Steven), Diana Griffin and John Thomas Griffin Jr.; great grandchildren, Sean, Tricia, Tanya, Emilea, Amaya and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Eugena McRoberts; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

A Military Rites service will be held at the graveside Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Somerville Cemetery in Somerville. The Retired Military Veterans will be providing the military rites.  Burial will follow the service. There will be no visitation at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
