Glenna Jean Waldroup, 77, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at her home in Princeton with her family by her side. She was born August 22, 1944 in Princeton to the late, Warren and Wanda (Carpenter) Barr. She formerly worked at the former Perpetual Savings and Loan (later Mid-West Federal Savings and Loan) in Princeton and at the North Gibson School Corporation in the cafeteria. Her most important job in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and taking care of family and friends.
Glenna was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton since 1958, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She met her husband, Teddy Waldroup when she was 12 years old and they were always together. They both served as foster parents for several years.
She is survived by her children, Ted Waldroup (Karen Tucker) of Indianapolis, Rebecca Hughes (John) of Princeton, and Scott Waldroup (Ronda) of Evansville; grandchildren, Nate and Kristen Waldroup (and their mother, Karen Waldroup), Rylee, Ella and Levi Hughes, and Dustin and Brandon Waldroup; siblings, Nina Faass, Nancy Foley, Stan Barr (Mary), Wanda Meredith (Denzil), Rick Barr (Fran), Connie Hensley (Leonard), Lori Blackard (Jim), and Dennis Barr (Kathy).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 60 years, Teddy Waldroup; 5 infant children; and a granddaughter, Leah Strickland: and brothers-in-law, Ronald Faass and Michael Foley.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Friday, July 15, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, 800 W. Faith Blvd. in Princeton, with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 pm Friday at the church. The service will be streamed live on the Colvin Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 4 pm, https://www.facebook.com/ColvinFuneralHomes. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements and is honored to serve Glenna’s family.
