Gregory Allen Obituary

Gregory “Joe” Allen, 73, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home. He was born October 1,1947 in Florida to the late Parkie Allen and Bonnie (Bush) Allen Coffman. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and worked for many years as a coalminer for Amax Coal. Joe spent the last 25 years in the Princeton area and was known as a master knife craftsman. He was the owner of Cable Joe Knives making custom knives. He was involved in the Gibson Wabash County Filipino American Support Group and a member of the UMWA Local. Joe enjoyed mussel loading, fishing, hunting, camping, and eating Filipino food.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jasmin Allen of Princeton; son, Patrick Shane Allen of Fort Branch; daughter, Kimberly Boyer (Chris) of Effingham, Illinois; grandchildren, Delanie Hagenseiker (Chris Keller) and Brook Hughart (Nick); great-grandchildren, Aidan Hughart, Heidi Hughart, Kennedy Keller, and Elle Keller; brother, Robert Coffman of Jeffersonville; and sister, Carol Kinslow of Tampa, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Coffman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the service hour, 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
