Gregory Bennett, 68, of Mackey passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 5, 1956 in Princeton to Clifford and Dorothy (Maikranz) Bennett.
Greg had lived in Mackey and Evansville most of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of W.M.H.S. and graduated from Ivy Tech School of Nursing in Evansville. He enjoyed drawing, painting, cooking, gardening, growing flowers, playing guitar and singing. He also liked cross word puzzles, playing scrabble, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Greg is survived by a step-father, Charles Georges of Mackey; step-mother, Kay Bennett; brother, Terry Bennett (Linda); sisters, Darlene Wright (Steve), Janelle Bennett, and Michelle Vickers; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Georges on March 14, 2024; his father, Clifford Bennett in 1996; brother, Alan Bennett and brother-in-law Jim Vickers.
A funeral service celebrating Greg’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery rural Francisco. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
