Hazel Skelton Obituary

Hazel E. Skelton, 72, of Fort Branch, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home. She was born February 25, 1949 in Princeton to the late Charles Scott and Ada Mae (Phelps) Scott. She worked for AmeriQual then for Casey’s Gas Station in Fort Branch. She lived in the Oakland City area for many years and was a member of Francisco Gospel Ministry. She served as past president and district president for the VFW Auxiliary #1147. She was loved and will be missed.

Hazel is survived by her grandchildren, Dexter Wise, Robbie Hamilton, Ashley Dorris (Gage Gardner), Allen Dorris (Brittany Lewis), Jamie Dorris (Donte Thomas), Michael Dorris, and Justin Rodgers; 13 great-grandchildren; and a bonus daughter, Sherilyn Drew (Quentin).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Lee Skelton; sons, Gary Dorris, Jr. and Larry Skelton; and siblings, William Scott, Lois Lasley, and Julie Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton officiated by James Wilkerson, Jr. Interment will follow.
