Obituary

Helen Diona Mercer, 83, of Louisville, KY passed away May 17, 2023 at North River Nursing Home in Evansville, IN. She was born August 6, 1939 in Maceo, KY to the late James Samuel Cutliff and Lucille (Butler) Tucker. Helen was a past member of Portland Ave Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She helped run the laundry department of the INN Hotel at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY for over 10 years. Helen enjoyed tending garden and canning vegetables. She was an avid animal lover.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Mercer; brother, and Carol Elwood Hudson.

She is survived by her children, Josie Mercer-Wootton (Martyn), Bill Anthony Mercer (Ray McKinnon), and Patty Shepherd (Jim); grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Carson, Amanda, and Matthew; siblings, Viona Cutliff Thompson and Luanna Tucker Clark (Everett).

Colvin Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Helen. A cremation will take place followed by interment at Coyle Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Breckinridge, KY at a later date.
