Helen Rosalie (Bailey) Henager of Petersburg passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. She was born January 14, 1930, in Pike County to Joseph and Ida (McNeely) Bailey. Rosalie graduated from Spurgeon High School, Lockyear's Business College, Oakland City College, and Indiana State College.
Rosalie taught elementary school for 20 years in the Warrick County School Corporation. Prior to her teaching career, she did secretarial work at Prudential Insurance Company, United Mine Workers Office, and Southern Continental Telephone Company.
Rosalie and James W. Henager were married on July 10, 1955. After 57 happy years together, he preceded her in death on January 14, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Harold Bailey, James Bailey, and Charles Bailey.
Rosalie was a lifetime member of Log Creek General Baptist Church.
Surviving is her dear friend, Cassie Harker, of Petersburg who has been her companion during her years at Amber Manor; her husband's cousin and close friend, Sue Rothwell; sister-in-law, Joan Bailey; many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside 11 a.m. CST Friday November 20, 2020 at the Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon. Burial will follow the services. There will be no public visitation Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City has been entrusted with the arrangements. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are recommended.
