Ike Belcher, Sr. Obituary

Ike Belcher, Sr., 83, of Hazleton, IN passed away peacefully at home Thursday, February 19, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born January 26, 1943 in Gibson County to the late Chester Belcher and Elizabeth (Sanders) Belcher. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. On July 15, 1967, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Cates) Belcher and they were blessed with 58 years together before her passing September 26, 2025. Ike was a member of the VFW and American Legion and worked for Central Soya and North Gibson School Corporation as custodian.  

Ike’s grandsons were everything to him. He had a love for sports, especially basketball and golf. He was a simple man, but knew what was important in life which he enjoyed to the fullest. Ike loved his family dearly and will be missed beyond measure. 

Ike is survived by his children, Ikey Belcher, Jr. (Garie) and Pamela “Jeannie” Breen (Robbie “Bob”); grandchildren, Quentin Belcher, Wesley McKannan, Steven Breen, Wyatt Breen, Hunter Breen, and Jason Beadles; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Wilma Belcher, Sarah Lewis, Elsie Belcher, Laveda Boner; and brothers, Marvin Belcher, Pervis Belcher, Julian Belcher and Donald Belcher.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 27, 2026 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Ricky Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Hazleton Cemetery in Hazleton with Full Military Honors held by the Retired Veterans. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
