Obituary

Jack E. “Leroy” Wheeler, 72, of Oakland City, IN passed away April 24, 2023 at The Waters in Princeton, IN. He was born April 30, 1950 in Evansville, IN to the late Howard Wheeler and Marjorie (McQueen) Wheeler. Leroy retired as an Engineer from AWW Railroad later known as Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Oakland City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Hadi Shrine. Leroy enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. He adored spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Micki Jo Wheeler.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Wheeler of Oakland City, IN; children, Missy Martin (Jeff) and Mindy Byers (Adam) of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Olivia Robbins, Hunter Willis, Payton Martin, Skylar Tingley, Conner Tingley, and Kameron Byers; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna (Erwin) Gatwood.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Oakland City Country Club from 1pm CST to 3 pm CST.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with medical and funeral expenses.
