Jackie Price, 65, of Princeton passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born in Corydon, IN, July 2, 1959 to James E. and Hazel Dell (Ouinlin) Howerton.
Jackie had lived in Princeton for over 40 years, moving here from Tell City. She was a Registered Nurse and was the Area Director of Clinical Operations with Gentiva Hospice. Jackie enjoyed working at her job, loved to cook and was a good cook. She graduated from Tell City High School in 1977. She graduated from Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, IL, where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Larry Price of Princeton; parents Hazel Dell and Joe Davis of Panama City Beach ,FL; stepmother, Patricia Howerton of Huntingburg; son, Christian Price of Princeton; stepdaughter, Sherry Macharia of Shelbyville IN; 2 sisters, Kimberly Hansen (William) of Indianapolis and Michelle Fisher (Joseph) of Randle, Washington; step grandson, Alex Macharia of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rick Price and Garvin Price of Princeton, Kim McCormick (David) of Princeton, and Missy Meade (Clint) of Mt. Olympus; aunts, Brenda James (Durward) of Tell City, Brenda Quinlin of Texas, and Judy Quinlin of Mt. Pleasant, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Howerton.
A memorial service celebrating Jackie’s life will be held following the Nursing Honor Guard Service at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Chaplain Randy Bechtel officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
