Jacquelyn J. “Jackie” Jenkins, 92, of Princeton, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born, October 1, 1930 in Princeton, to Alva and Lorraine (Collene) Fields.
Jackie had lived in Princeton most of her life. She was a member of the Brenton Chapel Church of Christ in Petersburg. Jackie retired from Potter and Brumfield as a Relay Adjuster. She along with several others worked on relays for N.A.S.A., which were used for the space ships that went to the moon as well as other missions, with the Gemini and Apollo programs. Jackie enjoyed scrapbooking and belonged to scrapbooking club. She enjoyed and was a very good cake baker. She baked many wedding cakes, and cakes for many other events. She participated in many of the events held at the Senior Citizens Center in Princeton.
Jackie is survived her children, Michael Jenkins (Cookie) of Beaver Creek, OH, Ronald Jenkins (Patty) of Uttica, KY, Penny Brenton (Leroy) of Petersburg, Gary Jenkins (Shirley) of Petersburg, Cheryl Harris (John) of Princeton; grandchildren, Stacey, Julie, April, Chris, Jan, Jeff, Brad, Ali, Dave and Jake; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Alva Fields and Lorraine Fields Woods; step-father, Harl Woods; husband, Forrest Jenkins; and four step-sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Eastern Time, Friday, August, 18, 2023, at the Brenton Chapel Church of Christ in Petersburg, with Elder Ross Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Atkinson Chapel Cemetery in Oatsville. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., Central Time, Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Eastern Time, Friday at the church.
