James Dudley “JD” Reynolds, 90, of Princeton, IN, passed away on October 17, 2024 surrounded by family and his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Ann (Lasater) Reynolds.
He was born on November 30, 1933 in Neelys Landing, Missouri to Dora (Johnson) Reynolds Farrow and James Dudley Reynolds. JD graduated from Indian Creek School and College High School in Missouri. He served in the United States Army as an Airline Engine Mechanic from 1953-1956 stationed at Fort Dicks (NJ), Fort Carson (CO), and in Germany. A recipient of the National Defense Service Medal (Marksman, Rifle) and the Good Conduct Medal, he was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Specialist.
Following his service, JD married Marjorie in 1957.
Among many occupations, J.D. was a foreman at the Whirlpool Corporation for 29 years. He loved farming and continued to plant and harvest crops through age 89. He also loved tractor pulls.
JD’s faith in God was paramount. He and Marjorie regularly attended First Baptist Church in Princeton, IN.
JD’s proudest accomplishment in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie, his children, Cathy (David) Grollimund, Becky (Brett) Buck, and Jim (Deanna) Reynolds. His 7 grandchildren, Laura (Andy) Bowell, Hali Buck, Daniel (Molly) Grollimund, Abby (Brett) Shipley, Stephen (Lauren) Grollimund, Alyssa Reynolds, and Logan (Shelley) Buck. His 13 great-grandchildren, Liam, Ardan, Lucy, Sawyer, Addison, Jovie, Maeryn, Knox, Marta, Stevie, Maddie, Eddie Jo, and Conway. His sister-in-law’s Lil (Jerry) Reynolds and Karen (Larry) Reynolds. JD was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Lee Reynolds and Larry Gene Reynolds; and by his mother Dora Reynolds Farrow and father, James Dudley Reynolds.
Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church in Princeton, IN on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4:00PM-7:00PM. The service will also take place at First Baptist on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery (Fort Branch) where full military honors will be conducted by the retired Military Veterans. Arrangements managed by Colvin Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank JD’s friends and church family at First Baptist Church, and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
