James Mason Obituary

James Earl Mason, 90, of Princeton, IN was called home to the Lord January 11, 2024. He was born January 8, 1934 in Gibson County to the late Richard and Deliah (Byrns) Mason. Jim went to work for Princeton Farms when he was just 14 years old until 1964 when he took a position at Crescent Plastics in Evansville. He married his soulmate, Janice, June 15, 1963.  Jim retired from Crescent Plastics in 1997 after 33 years. In earlier years he was a member of Oasis Church in Princeton. Currently Jim was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene in Princeton. He was a big fan of Gun Smoke, working on lawnmowers, tinkering with anything that needed adjusted and tending to his garden. Jim was known to take a vacation in August to go squirrel hunting. He like to always have a beagle dog around the house. Most importantly Jim loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ora Mason, Arby Mason, John Mason, Richard Mason, Nellie Mason, Lavada Deal Moody, and Mary Riggs.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Mason; children, Mike (Ginger) Mason, Brian (Sherri) Mason, and Mindy (Nathan) Brines; grandchildren, Brandi (Matt) Smith, Spicey Meeks, Jordan (Miranda) Mason, Paige (Shawn) Gibson, and Macy Brines; great-grandchildren, Lexi Smith, Xavier Smith, and Jeriko Smith, Phoenix Devine, Maebry Mason, and Ezekiel Mason; and brother, Ralph (Fletta) Mason.

Visiting will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, January 23, 2024, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.  Officiated by Pastor Donnie Truelock and burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Memorial contributions can be made to New Life Church of the Nazarene or The Alzheimer Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
