James Warren Obituary

James Ray Warren, 80, of Hazleton, went home to be with His Lord on Friday, November 13, 2020 at home, with his family by his side.  He was born on December 13, 1939 to the late Frank and Zella (Peek) Warren, in Ft. Branch, IN.  He resided in Princeton most of his lifetime.  Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, as a radio operator, stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany.  He worked for Whirlpool, retiring in 2002.  In his younger years, Jim was a member of Enon General Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, taught the young married Sunday School class, and drove the bus for Vacation Bible School.  He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved working in his yard, was an avid ping pong player and loved throwing frisbee. He enjoyed old cars, loved music and watching his younger brother drag race. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sheridan (Reed) Warren of Hazleton; 2 daughters, Dana Pleiss (Larry) of Hazleton and LeeAnne Gatewood (Brian) of Evansville; 3 granddaughters, Mallory Pleiss of Evansville, Alecia Harmon (Andy) of Princeton and Audrey Sparks (Nathan) of Haubstadt; one great grandson, Luka Reed Harmon and another great grandchild on the way; sister, Joyce Kramer (Hank) of Norfolk, VA; sisters-in-law, Carol Warren of Hammond, IN, Jana Warren of Princeton, Cathy Warren of Cynthiana; Connie Whitten (Buck) of Evansville, Irma Garrett (Mike) of Haubstadt; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert Warren, Jewell Racine (Ernie), Betty Mounts (Harold), Donald Warren, Richard Warren, and Larry Warren; and brother-in-law, Dennis Reed. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service was held on Monday, November 16, 2020 with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating.  There was no visitation.  Burial was at Clark Cemetery in Owensville, IN. Military rites were performed by the Retired Military Veterans.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Memorial Church, 1520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670.

The family wishes to thank Sandy, Amanda, Autumn and Jamie at Heritage Hospice for their compassion and excellent care for the family.  Thank you to Toni Pollock for your love for the Lord and compassionate heart as you helped show love to the Warren family.   Thank you to our loving family and friends for your prayers, encouraging words, and meals at just the right time.  Mostly, we want to thank the Lord for His goodness and lovingkindness through it ALL.
