James “Doc” Miskell, 65, of Darmstadt, passed away Wednesday, Jan 8, 2025 at his home. He was born November 10, 1959 in Princeton, to Charles W. and Helen Marie (Montgomery) Miskell.
Doc was a graduate of P.C.H.S., living in Darmstadt for the past 13 years, moving there from Princeton. He was a retired autobody mechanic, but still continued to work at home. He worked at several area autobody shops last working for Patriot Motors. Doc had been a member of A.B.A.T.E. for many years, enjoying riding his Harley and his three-wheel trike he built. He enjoyed boating, restoring hot rods, and spending time with his family.
Doc is survived by his wife, Debbie Miskell of Darmstadt; children, Brittany Miskell of Princeton, Magen Gillihan of Patoka, Kevin Miskell (Haley) of Newburgh, and Dakota “Opie” Miskell of Evansville; step-children, Jody Peak and Dana Peak of Darmstadt; grandchildren, Xander, Shiloh, Hanah, Gavin, Lainey, James, Havyn (Landon), Trinitey, Sierra, and Jacob; siblings, Beatrice “Sissy” Walters, LaSheila Miskell-Frederick (Monte), Charles “Rocky” Miskell, Mike Miskell (Angela), Tony Miskell, Steve Miskell (Star), and Brian Miskell (Amanda); sister-in-law, Jerri Ann Miskell; several nieces and nephews.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Larry, Mark, and Tracie Miskell and Linda Myers.
A funeral service celebrating Doc’s life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Travis Gillihan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
