Janet S. (Linxwiler) Oliver

Janet S. (Linxwiler) Oliver, 81, of Oakland City, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at Good Samaritan Home and Rehab Center in Oakland City. She was born September 29, 1941 in Princeton, to the late Earl L. Linxwiler and Sophie (Critchfield) Linxwiler and graduated from high school in Mt. Olympus. Janet worked for Hansen Manufacturing for the majority of her working life, briefly at Hurst Manufacturing, and then at IGA in the flower department. She was a talented crafter making plastic canvases, bows, and flower arrangements. She especially had a knack for decorating around the holidays. Janet collected snow men and Pillsbury Dough Boy memorabilia. She'd keep her mind busy with word search puzzles, was a past member of the ladies’ auxiliary at Blessed Sacrament Church, and enjoyed teaching Sunday School to the grade school classes. She loved watching her kids play when they were in sports. 

Janet is survived by her husband, John Oliver of Oakland City, IN; children, David Austin Oliver (Cheryl) of Scottdale, PA and Deborah L. Oliver of Chandler, IN; and sister, Linda Linxwiler of Princeton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Linxwiler. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 11, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home Friday. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., Princeton, IN  47670, for funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
