Jason Patrick McConnell, 57, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Westfield, IN. He was born October 14, 1964 in Princeton to Richard L. & Jill (Gentry) McConnell. He was a graduate of the PCHS Class of 1983. He served in the United States Army from 1983-1987 as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. After serving in the Army he earned an Associate Degree from Vincennes University. He lived in Princeton most of his life and was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Princeton Rotary Club, Gibson County Salvation Army Board and the Lower Patoka River Conservancy District. He was also a founding member of the The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club. He was a farmer with the family farm operation, a long-time insurance agent, and an entrepreneur. He enjoyed golfing with his sons, hosting McConnell family reunions, and coaching his kids’ sports. He was avid movie watcher…The Dude Abides.
Jason is survived by his mother, Jill McConnell Larson of Princeton; children, KJ McConnell (Courtney) of Winnetka, IL, Maegan Roberts (Chris) of Carmel, Marissa McConnell Chaudhry (Jawad) of Indianapolis, and Kyle McConnell (Alexandra) of Bloomington; brothers, R.J. McConnell (Karla) of Franklin and Todd McConnell (Debbie) of Princeton; sister, Amy McConnell (Jeff Hopf) of Huntingburg; grandchildren, James, Ainsley and Thomas McConnell and Arielle Morgan, Laila and Rowan Roberts; mother of his children, Mona McConnell; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. McConnell.
A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Military services will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 3 pm until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
