Jay M. Davidson, 79, of Hazleton, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Boulder, Colorado on February 21, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter “Bert” R. Davidson and Geneva M. (Foust) Davidson.
He dedicated his life to his family farm and will always be remembered for his hard work and willingness to lend a helping hand to others when needed.
Jay loved watching his three sons play sports and more particularly coaching them in youth baseball. He was honored to be inducted into the Indiana Babe Ruth Hall of Fame for his time and dedication.
He also enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it be working on his farm, golfing, fishing, or mowing. He relaxed by watching sports, specifically baseball and Purdue basketball as well as a good western. Jay’s greatest joy though was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Julia (Meier) Davidson of Hazleton. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 23rd. He is also survived by his sons, Jim Davidson (Elizabeth) of Schererville, Jason Davidson (Jill) of Hazleton, and John Davidson of Hazleton; grandchildren, Ryan Davidson (Emma), Lauren Murphy (Trevor), Warren Davidson, Henry Davidson, and Mercedes Davidson; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Davidson, Nora Murphy, Newton Thompson, and Kamry Davidson; brothers-in-law, Bob Meier (Virginia) of Boonville and Tom Meier (Bev) of Princeton; sister-in-law, Marge Dyson of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Casey.
