Jerauld “Jerry” D. Wildt Sr., 86, of Princeton passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Deaconess Gibson Hospital in Princeton. He was born November 28, 1938 in Princeton to Beauford and Mildred (Reneer) Wildt, who preceded him in death.
Jerry was the former owner operator of Jerry’s Power Equipment in Princeton which he operated for 30 years. He was a retired firefighter with the Princeton Fire Department after 20 years of service and a member of the Firefighters Local #1634. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an airplane electrician from 1957-1961. He was a former member of the Princeton Lions Club and enjoyed helping them with selling oranges, grapefruit and working in the Gibson County Fair Stand. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Wildt of Princeton; sons, Jim Wildt (Tonia) of Princeton and J.D. Wildt Jr. (Patty) of Princeton; sisters, JoAnn Goldbach of Evansville, Loretta Sloan of N.C. and Sharon Bielack of Hammond, IN; grandchildren, Jeremy Wildt (Katherine), Jordan Wildt (Meg), Dylan Davenport (Kayleigh), April Davenport, Justin Wildt and Joseph Wildt (Kaysia); great grandchildren, Eli, Addison, Zoey, Ada, Oaklee and Arabella.
A funeral service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Joseph Wildt officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia White Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday. Military graveside services will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans.
