Joan K. Kelley, 88, of Princeton, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born January 3, 1935 in Fort Branch, IN to the late Anna Katherine (Romerhausen) Eads and Elza George Howell, and had lived in Princeton most of her lifetime. Joan was a homemaker and an active member of the former Broadway Christian Church, where she was always helping out with any of the events at the church.
Joan always had a smile and was friendly to everyone she met. She was a great cook and enjoyed getting her family together and feeding them on holidays and special occasions. She loved taking car rides with her husband, and watching her game shows, the Atlanta Braves and UK Basketball on TV.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Calvin B. Kelley, Jr. on September 3, 2023; and a sister, Barbara June Lowenkamp.
Joan is survived by 4 children, Connie (Randy) Estes, Tim (Tonya) Kelley, Brad (Lisa) Kelley and Kamala Kelley; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Estes, Dasha and Jonathan Kelley, Michael Pauley, and Lacee Price; 13 great grandchildren, Drake, Decker, Khloe, Tanner, Kaydence, Zoie, Lexee, Gabrial, Lyric, Gavin, Gaige, Drayden and Gracie; 2 siblings, Carol Jean Vaughn and Larry George Howell.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 1 pm until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White River Baptist Church, 112 N. Prince St., Princeton, IN 47670. Envelopes will also be available at Colvin’s.
