Joe Eldon Corn, 94, of Princeton (formerly Wheatland, Indiana), passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at RiverOaks Health Campus surrounded by family. He was born on August 19, 1930, in Oakland City, Indiana to the late Ivory and Cora Corn. He married Carroll (Watkins) Might on May 16, 1981 and was blessed with 44 years of marriage before his passing.
Joe worked as a truck driver from 1948 until 1996. Joe started trucking at the Coal Docks in Bruceville, Indiana, drove for 39 years at Monroe City Elevator as a grain hauler and later for Babbs Lumber Co. in Vincennes, Indiana.
As a member of the Enon General Baptist Church in Princeton, he was the groundskeeper for over 20 years. He and wife Carroll also enjoyed taking care of the Church Sign Ministry for 11 years with biblical slogans for all to enjoy while traveling up and down Highway 41. He was an avid coin collector. Joe enjoyed traveling with his wife and tending his garden. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all who loved him. He was a hard-working man that was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Corn, Evalou Hayden, Marie Sorgius, Ralph Corn, and infant sister, Agnes Corn; and son-in-law, Dwight Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carroll Corn of Princeton, Indiana; children, Larry Corn (Sarah Jane) of Linton, Indiana, Bonnie Moore of Washington, Indiana, and Mike Corn of Evansville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Susan Corn of Maggie Valley, NC, Andrew Corn (Kathryn) of Fort Mill, SC, Bryan Corn (Terika) of Wood River, NE, Stacy Beckham (Chad) of Evansville, IN, and Brayton (Jennifer) and Tyrell Moore of Washington, IN; in addition to seven great-grandchildren. Stepchildren include Karen Sturgeon (Tim) of Princeton, IN and Keith Might (Mary Ann) of Indianapolis, six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Pastor Tammy Sheller officiating and burial to follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
Memorial donations may be made to Evansville Rescue Mission. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
