Joetta R. (Borders) Scherb, 81, recently of Evansville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Woodbridge Nursing Home. She was born in Pike County to the late Morris Borders and Thelma (Engler) Borders and was in the FHA in high school. She was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene for many years and was known as “Mommy Joe” to many; showing love and taking care of children in her home. She loved children and was a very caring soul. She never met an enemy and had many friends. She enjoyed reading and doing word searches, but her greatest joy in life was her granddaughter, Emma. She loved her more than anything in the world. Joetta was loved deeply and will be missed.
Joetta is survived by her daughter, Shannon Drafahl and husband, Joe of Evansville; and granddaughter, Emma Drafahl of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harold L. Rogers on November 24, 1983; second husband, John F. Scherb on May 7, 2014; and a brother, Robert Borders.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Pastor Donnie Truelock. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 10 until 12:00 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
