John D. Lee, 72 of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born February 25, 1951, in Vincennes, to Charles Luther and Elizabeth (Conner) Lee.
John retired from Lewis Brothers Bakery in Evansville, where he worked for 35 years. He had lived in Princeton since 1975, enjoyed spending time with his family and liked to listen to rock and roll music.
John is survived by his wife, Gayle Lee of Princeton; his children, Amy Bowser (Bob) of Mt. Carmel, Adam Lee (Julia) of Owensville, Alan Lee (Gretchen) of Dayton, OH, Arin Lee (Andrea) of Philpot, KY, Andrew Lee of Princeton, Haley, Macey and A.J. Lee all at home; sister, Ruby Pipher (Bill) of Vincennes, Bob Lee (Mary) of Teutopolis, IL, Jack Lee (Lisa) of Loogootee; grandchildren, Zachary Lee (Taylor), Grace Holder (Grant), Katie Lee, Jonathan and Brendan Bowser, Abby, Asher, Maggie and Addi Lee; and 3 great-grandsons.
John was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Andrew John Lee; brothers, Jim, Bill, Don and David; and a sister Joyce.
A memorial service will be held, 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Doug Sanders officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will follow, at the Bruceville Cemetery in Bruceville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time on Friday at the funeral home.
