John D. Pyle, 87 of Princeton passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at his home. He was born in Gibson County July 30, 1937 to Lowell Henry and Ruby Carol (Skelton) Pyle.
John had lived in Gibson County all of his life. He graduated from Mt. Olympus High School. John was the owner-operator of Harden Brothers Tire and Supply in Princeton for 42 years. He was a faithful servant of God, a member of the First General Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for 34 years, taught Sunday School, and was Co-Chairman of the Building Committee when the church was built. John enjoyed camping and traveling along with his wife Carolyn.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn Pyle of Princeton; daughter, Kathy Wallace (Larry) of Patoka; grandchildren, Ryan Wallace (Kari), Kyle Wallace (Crystal), and Courtney Deffendall (Casey); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Deffendall, Olivia Brown, Elise Wallace, Ava Collins, Jaxon Wallace, Blake Deffendall, Nora Collins, and Kendal Wallace; and nephews, David and Jeff Pyle.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lowell A. Pyle.
A funeral service to celebrate John's life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Casey Deffendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olympus. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.
