John Alexander Sweigert, 89, of Palm Bay, FL formerly of Oakland City entered into peace January 13, 2026 at his home. He was born March 11, 1936 in Princeton, NJ, to Joseph and Jeanne Sweigert. He grew up in Hopewell, NJ living in Oakland City prior to moving to Florida. John was an incredible husband, father, and PopPop, He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
John is survived by his wife, Shirley (Bruce) Sweigert; children, John Joseph Sweigert (Robin), Mary Henthorne (Mike), Jessie Howard, Virginia Leon, Melissa Rajcon (Dave), Darla Balderrama, Carla Worrell (Donald); 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a son Christopher Sweigert.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside in the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, 11 am Saturday, March 21, 2026, with Pastor Jake Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the services.
