John D. Waldroup, 83, of Princeton passed away January 6, 2021 at Golden Living Center – Brentwood in Evansville. He was born December 19, 1937 to the late William Harrison Waldroup and Dorothy Grace (Jones) Waldroup in Princeton where he lived all of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He worked at the Whirlpool Factory in Evansville for 44 years and as a Walmart door greeter for 20 years, some of those simultaneously. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Princeton and will be greatly missed by those who loved him dearly.
John is survived by his wife, Pauline Waldroup of Princeton; daughter, Paulette Hall of Newburgh; grandchildren, Destinee DeJarnett (Anthony) and Jakob Hall; great-grandchildren, Chance, Abbi, Jayneiha, Jayahna, Anthony, Jr., and Jayla; and brother, Ted Waldroup of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Juanita Mitchell, Norma Dill, and Bill Waldroup.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Princeton officiated by Pastor John Schmeling. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the church. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with arrangements. Due to COVID-19 mandates, gathering sizes are limited to 25 people with social distancing and masks are required.
