John E. Williams, 92, of Princeton passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home. He was born June 15, 1929, in Detroit MI, to Basil and Katheryn (Powell) Williams.
John had lived in Princeton since 1955. His family was the most important thing in his life, He loved spending time and reminiscing about the days with his grandchildren growing up. John was an avid bowler and enjoyed the comradeship as he bowled in many leagues. He retired from Hurst Manufacturing in 1994, where he had worked as a tool and die maker for 40 years. He was a veteran, serving in the US Navy during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Vera (Clark) Williams in 2014, whom he was married to for 63 years; also, two brothers, Raymond and Robert.
John is survived by his son, Mike Williams (Kathy) of Princeton; granddaughters, Mackenzie Oakes (Eric) of Huntersville, NC and Courtney Bultemeier (Logan) of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Oakes and Paige Bultemeier; sister, Yvonne Davidson of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside, 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the Columbia “White” Church Cemetery in Princeton with Donnie Truelock officiating. Burial will follow the services. There will be no public visitation, Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
