Joretta L. Hart, 94, of Princeton, IN passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 at RiverOaks Heath Campus surrounded by her family. She was born February 9, 1931 in Francisco, IN to the late Ebert and Retta (Annis) Stapleton. Joretta was in the 1949 graduating class of Francisco High School. After high school she married the love of her life, John Hart, July 12, 1950 and was blessed with 46 years of marriage before his passing. She retired as an engineering lab technician from Potter and Brumfield after 39 years of service. Joretta also worked at Home Interiors for 25 years. She was a lifelong member of Francisco Methodist Church. Joretta really liked cars and had a vast knowledge of most makes and models. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in earlier years, cooking for friends and family, and spending time talking with friends. Joretta liked watching TV and catching the Cardinals play ball. She was loved and will deeply be missed.
Joretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hart; daughter, Jetta Cundiff; and brother, Harold (Eloise) Stapleton.
She is survived by her son, John D. “J.D.” (Tammy) Hart; grandchildren, Amanda Stiles, John (Celine) Hart, Chad Cundiff, and Kristen Dicus; great-grandchildren, Jonny Hart, Cameron Cundiff, Colton Cundiff, Kaylie Dicus, and Chloe Dicus; nieces and nephews, Connie Martin, Carmen Stapleton, and Myra Stapleton.
A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Lance officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
