Joseph P. Ireland

Joseph P. Ireland, 97, of Francisco, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City. He was born January 9, 1923, the youngest of nine children to the late John and Tessie (Ford) Ireland. He was a lifetime resident of the Francisco area and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the VFW and formerly served in the VFW funeral detail.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Ireland; children, Joseph Ireland II (Marty), Julie Benton (Michael) and Jon Ireland (Kim); grandchildren, Jason Ireland, Amanda Ireland, Daisie Benton, Brady Benton, Joseph B. Ireland, Elizabeth Ireland, Annabell Ireland, Sabrina Ireland, Easter Ireland and Pearly Ireland.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jay Patrick Ireland and 8 siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2020 at Francisco Cemetery in Francisco. Military Rites by Retired Military Veterans. The family wants to convey that everyone is welcome to attend the graveside service.
