Joyce Ann Kemper, 83, of Princeton, IN passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center in Oakland City, IN. She was born January 28, 1941 in Princeton, IN to the late Vesper E. and Mabel Hill. Joyce was employed for a number of years doing factory and home health work. She was of the Methodist faith where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Her hobbies included collecting frog figurines and watching Hallmark movies.
Joyce married the love of her life, Harold, and they had one daughter, Angela. She enjoyed spending time on family outings and later in life with her four grandchildren. Joyce had several pets she loved and cherished as well. Her favorite color was purple. Joyce was a fun-loving person who loved music, especially Elvis. She was an attentive caretaker of clients and her grandchildren. Joyce loved God and people.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Vesper and Mabel Hill; husband, Harold E. Kemper; brothers, Bobby and Donnie Hill; and sister, Retha Hill.
She is survived by her daughter Angela (Tim) Thompson; grandchildren, Zach (Maria) Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Cassidy (Hunter) Thompson, and Mackenzie Thompson; siblings, Jim Hill, Kenny Hill and Betty Little; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce fought the good fight against Alzheimer’s for 10 years, at last finding victory in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Graveside service will be held 2:30 pm Friday, August 30, 2024 at Columbia White Church Cemetery with Pastor Jason Clark officiating. Visitation will be held 12 pm to 2 pm at Colvin Funeral Home.
The family wants to give a huge Thank you to the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan for their love and care of Joyce during her residency there.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Envelope will be available at the funeral home.
